Shut UpStormzy · 2015Recorded, Mixed & Mastered
2× PlatinumRecording · North London N19
Vocal recording sessions at a north London studio (N19), run by the engineer who recorded Stormzy's Dreamers Disease, "Know Me From" and the 2× Platinum "Shut Up". £35 an hour, or £200 for a full 8-hour day.
The session
Sessions take place at 6IXVI's studio in north London (N19), or at your own studio for £50 an hour, with 6IXVI engineering and his own vocal chain: a Telefunken AK-47 MkII or FLEA 47 through a Neve 1073, into a Distressor and Tube-Tech CL 1B. You focus on the performance; he handles takes, punch-ins and comping.
An 8-hour block includes basic vocal comping and a rough reference mix to take home. When the record is ready, it can go straight on to a full mix and master with the same engineer.
